Local villages are currently facing difficulties such as an aging population, young people migrating to cities, a single industrial structure, and barren betel nut fields. If betel nut can be upgraded from a primary industry to a secondary or tertiary industry, there is a chance to reverse the current situation. Betel Nut Dyeing is the beginning of how we started to change all this.

WHO we are

TAIWAN DYE is a workshop hidden in the betel nut forest. Starting from the decline of the betel nut industry, we tried to find an opportunity for industrial transformation and regional revitalization. Interestingly, we found “betel nut dyeing” in Japanese historical documents. After years of research and promotion, we have upgraded the betel nut from its edible purpose to the aesthetics of life.
